Get ready to empty your junk drawers, gather your lunch trash and mix in a bit of imagination to change trash into treasures. Join us for a fun-filled week of found objects and residual imaginative materials curated by our own Penelope Fox. Create sculptures and collages with character and stories to give them new lives.
These projects involve group brainstorming and teamwork. The student will learn about the creative process, the basics of construction, and balance.
OBJECTIVE: To develop reasoning skills
Week Two, Dinosaurs SOLD OUT
Dates: July 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th
This week is all things dinosaur, from environments to models and dioramas. A roar-o-sauros time awaits as we paint, cut, glue, mix materials to create three-dimensional dinosaur era environments. Bring your dino knowledge with you as we study, expand and share our knowledge as a group.
OBJECTIVE: To expand our historical knowledge

“Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Thomas Alva Edison
Calling all geniuses alla Edison genre! We do the work for you, and you bring the imagination as we study, develop and execute scientific principles. We will explore safe chemical reactions using simple household products and make our very own lava lamps and germinate seeds. A Pop & Fizz messy week is in store for our budding scientists.
AND Papermaking – it is like baking from scratch for the beginner. We will shred fabric, natural grass fibers, recycled paper, and other found objects to create beautiful paper. We will learn the science and the art behind this ancient craft.
OBJECTIVE: To learn the scientific process through experimentation
Week Four, Space ONLY 4 SPACES LEFT
Dates: July 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th
This week is filled with not only science but sculpture. We will recreate a volcanic eruption and make stick figures dance suspended in water. WOW! Then we will design and build imaginative space crafts from rockets to lunar landing modules to whatever one can imagine. To dream is to soar!
OBJECTIVE: To apply the imagination to scientific knowledge.
