We're pleased to provide our popular Summer Art Camp for the 2022 season. This camp offers a wide variety of projects fitting all skill levels while experimenting with mediums ranging from drawing to painting to mixed-media.
STEAM Themes:
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math)
Each week is a different theme. So, not only will your child create fun art projects, they will also learn about space, prehistoric times, famous artists from the past, animals, and art in other areas of the world like Asia, Africa, and South America.

Week one

PREHISTORIC TIMES - What if Pre-History became a current event? Imagine dinosaurs walking the earth. How big would they be? Would they ride the bus? Would they do the work of 10 men, 20 men, or 1,000 men? Join us on an expedition of enormous proportions to uncover the answers to these questions and others. Build a visual map of these terrible lizards in your town. Explore the work of an artist whose major work centers around pre-history and a simulated archeological dig will transform you into a real live scientist. Watch out for dynamic dinosaurs, you’ll dig the adventure!

Week Two
SIX SPACES LEFT
SPACE EXPLORERS– Space exploration with no jet lag. Learn about famous astronauts, their space explorations, and what inspires them. We will walk along the moon’s surface, create our own version of a spacecraft. Learning about propulsion and thrust has never been this fun. We will dodge meteorites and explore the atmosphere. If you have ever wished upon a star, this week is for you!

Week Three

GLOBAL PASSPORT - How do children in other countries live? Come along with us as we explore the customs of children from around the world. How do they play? How do they make music? What animals roam in their neighborhoods? How do they see the world? We will visit the continents of Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America with a signature craft and a short history of the local cultures. We will leave Antarctica to the penguins!

Week Four

OCEAN EXPLORER - The richness of ocean waters grows a garden full of color and life. Join us as we travel with Sylvia Earle, a world record holder in ocean exploration. We will learn about bioluminescence, (glowing waters full of live mini sea creatures; micro-organisms.) What do real-life sea monsters look like? Create your own aquarium model without any water yet plenty of sea life both real and imagined! Not a moment to be missed. Come snorkel with us!

FIVE SPACES LEFT
THINGS THAT FLY – From helicopters and airplanes to butterflies and dragonflies - How do they
fly? Learn the science of flight by studying nature. We will make models of flying machines,
animals, and insects. We will study lift, thrust and deceleration. Who are the heroes of aviation
that fill your own backyard and your dreams? Come along for this soaring journey into science,
nature and art.
